Burned Out

Well, I can honestly say that I'm sick of taking film classes. It started as being a nice way to get through summer classes and catch up on films that I probably should have seen. This landed me an accidental minor in history. I'm not complaining about that but I am tired of watching films and then having to pretend to be deep in analyzing them.

Currently I'm taking a German Film History course. It's been very interesting, aside from the 15 page term paper that was due last week. I'm still working on it and I've spoken with my prof. about it being late. I'll be docked, but at least after talking to him I'm actually interested in my topic. I'm writing about Josef von Sternberg's creation of on-screen Marlene Dietrich and how her roles in his films led to the femme fatales in film noir.

I've watched a few of the films so far, and currently sitting through a few more. Laser Disc! The video library on campus has just about everything, but I wasn't expecting to get a laser disc. The student working the desk siad she'd never watched a laser disc...sigh...I feel old - and I'm not old. Damn kids.

Films:
☒ Der Blaue Engel (The Blue Angel)
☒ Shanghai Express
☐ Blonde Venus
☐ The Scarlet Empress
☐ Morocco
☐ Dishonored

Actually, these last two I can't seems to find anywhere. I may have to skip them or rely on overviews
